I had 3 different emails this morning, and between them I was a multi-millionaire!
One said I was $950,000.00 richer if Would only send a $95.00 fee to the insurance company.
Another promised me $350,000.00 if I would just send them all my personal information.
The third email promised me a finders fee on $750,000.00 if I could just send them my ATM card’s information.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking maybe these kinds of offers may be too good to be true. What do you think??
I receive at least 3 of these types of email per day. My question is this “Do other people out there really fall for that crap?”
There is no such thing as a free lunch. Period.
Is there money to be made online? Absolutely! The problem is people are desperate to make money and think the magic of the internet will turn them into a money making machine overnight. Desperate people can be easily taken advantage of because they will believe anything if it is what they want to hear. Often curiosity gets the better of them and BOOM they get sucked into a situation that is only going to end badly for them. Laziness and greed are the two biggest downfalls of humankind.
I’m sure you don’t fall for these emails, but I wonder about the people who do respond to this crap. Why would anyone give up their personal information to total strangers?? I just don’t ‘get’ it. These emails really make me angry. How did they get my email address? Why can’t I unsubscribe? Every day they make their way to my inbox and I can’t get them to go away. That makes me think they get what they want with the mailings. There must be people out there falling for the easy money. That scares me.
At tax time I received a very legitimate looking email from someone claiming to be from the IRS. They wanted my bank information to process my return. Thank God I was savvy enough not to comply. I happen to know the IRS does not do business that way.
Another scammer is sending me emails claiming to be PayPal. Although they appear to be legit, I am very leery about any of that type of mail asking for personal info that could compromise my accounts. (If you get any of these types of emails please report back to PayPal by forwarding the email to spoof@PayPal.com)
Scammers are all over the internet. As readers of my blog, everyone here is most likely internet marketers or seeking information about marketing. Seeking an opportunity is great and very enterprising, however, be diligent in your research about any opportunity you are contemplating. If you don’t know how to choose a business opportunity, I have a article that may help you out. You can read it in one of my previous posts. Read my post on March 15th.
There are many great opportunities to make unlimited money online today, but not every offer can get you results. My recommendation would be to research any opportunity thoroughly. Unless you are completely satisfied with what you find, move on. Many companies promise, but only a small percentage actually deliver results. Oh, did I mention you actually have to work at it? There is no free lunch. If you think you are going to plug into anything and automatically make money without taking any action, you better think again!
Thank you all for letting me vent on this subject, which has been sitting in my craw for awhile. It was very difficult to keep this post PG. I feel so much better now.
